Evangelistic Celebration Recap August 4, 2007

It always brings my heart such joy to be in the presence of those whom I love so very much.  Tonight many children took part in the service.  During each meeting, time is taken for personal testimonials to be shared by the residents of the shelter. We were pleasantly surprised that most of the testimonials were spoken of by children. Several shared numerous times.  Among those, a teen-age child expressed her thanksgiving for God’s protective Hand over her family as recently their home burnt to the ground. She praised God that she, her parents and nine brothers and sisters survived and were getting closer as a result of the tragedy.  It reminded me of the Scripture that so encourages the Believer, “ALL things work together for the good to those who love God and are called according to HIS purpose.”  It is incredible to see a child who could be angry with losing all of her possessions, instead thanking and praising God for what is truly valuable-Life and Family.  Another testimony spoken was from a lady who gave praise to God for the life of her son. Just last week her 18 year-old boy looked down the barrel of a gun, was shot at, AND thankfully the gun misfired.

Children were the majority participants as we gave our “Call to the Cross!”  As an evangelist, God has made it very clear that His message must always involve and differentiate Jesus’ two roles in our lives, Savior and Lord! Separate and distinctive, Savior: His death took our penalty for sin; only through His sacrifice can we be saved. Lord: We exchange our life for His in return. Jesus is to be lived in and through us. No longer our own, He chooses our destiny for this life and the life to come. Repentance: (another key word to explain) Our conscience decision to turn away from sin and embrace obedience.  We thank God for the following lives who have acknowledged their need for Jesus as Savior and Lord. Please keep these dear ones in your prayers.

We are happy to report that the following individuals made a public profession of faith.
