God is Sovereign over all things! Of course those of you who read our recaps are well aware of this. I just want to proclaim that His will reigns in the life of our charity and its work. Some of you know that due to health issues, I was overwhelmed last week and canceled the event. A friend and precious brother called to encourage me and to state his willingness to minister in my absence. I was thrilled and with gratitude accepted his offer! The Lord refreshed me as Saturday approached. I was delighted to be in the presence of God with those whom I love so much. David McGuirk spoke an excellent word of encouragement with sincerity to the shelter residents. He also demonstrated the love of Jesus as he “ministered” by mopping the floor and holding little ones with soiled diapers. Dave truly models an attribute I esteem highly, but see rarely…servant leadership. Jesus is our greatest model! Although being God’s Son… Our King, HOLY and PERFECT, He didn’t consider it “menial” to touch a leper, wash filthy feet (much nastier in those days than most of us can conceptualize), feed the hungry, proclaim new life and freedom to those who were entrenched in sin, ride on a humble donkey and carry the burdensome weight of the cross. What has happened to the Church where it is the exception rather than the rule to see a leader actively demonstrates true servant leadership? Dave shared that his first “ministry” was to sweep broken glass from a parking lot where the addicted littered their bottles. Some would say, “What a waste of time for someone as anointed or gifted!” The Bible says that humility comes before honor. His Word says that God will exalt the humble!! His eyes see all things… Sweeping broken glass is an act of worship as beautiful as the most melodious praise! I believe that this very heart is why Dave is so effective in his ministry! Thank you Dave for your obedience to God and your desire to serve however needed. Thank you mostly to My Provider, Healer and Sustainer!
We are happy to report that the following individuals made a public profession of faith.
Deshawn (age 17)
Deshawn stood to his feet, came to the cross and recommitted His life to Jesus.
Please keep him in your prayers…as he desires to be set apart! He boldly took a stand alone!
Joshua (age 8) Jesus, Savior and Lord!
Mary (age 39) Jesus, Savior and Lord!
