It seems each time we visit the shelter; we have a singular experience that doesn’t compare with other evenings.  I am learning that although the presence of the Holy Spirit is ALWAYS sweet, a uniqueness that only God brings can explain its power and distinctiveness.

We were privileged to enjoy a ministry evening with Steve and Ellen Thweatt.  As those of you who know this couple, they have numerous gifts and talents. Steve, a pianist who is nothing short of being a virtuoso led us in worship. Even considering his extraordinary talent, the spirit of humility is what most impresses me about Steve. His sweet wife Ellen shared her very powerful testimony via DVD.  It was most impacting as the ladies and children related to some of her childhood and early adult experiences. She spoke of the Victory that can overcome horrific abuse, abandonment, homelessness, substance abuse and mental illness. We are grateful to have witnessed those who made a public profession to make Jesus Savior and Ruler of their lives.  Please pray for these dear ones.

At the Cross

Before giving the requests left at the foot of the Cross, I would like to ask everyone to pray for a lady who is staying at the shelter.  A member of the staff took me to her dorm, we prayed for her as she slept.  I left a Bible and other literature at her bedside. I have never witnessed any one quite like this.  She had numbers tattooed permanently on her forehead.  Each number was about an inch in length.  The numbers were 666.  From my understanding many of the ladies and children have been upset to share a room with this resident. Keep all in your prayers…
